The Loosers Prepare for 9-11-06

Here's a video of them preparing for their trip to New York City. Hilariously, this is part 1 of 5 videos (!). Something of a vanity project; the most interesting footage is of their dog, named "Justice".

yes, especially the part where they are skidding around on their 4-wheelers...dedicated to the lives we lost...

Nooooo.... These guys certainly aren't out to try and be celebrities, or get exposure, or anything like that.

Watching this, I couldn't help but think of the 343 firefighters lost that day. Seeing them tool around on their 4-wheelers evoked the stories of Mark Bingham, Jeremy Glick, and Todd Beamer. And seeing them spin their dog around on a tire immediately took me back to seeing the towers crumble and the thoughts of all those who had to have just perished.

[/sarcasm]

.... Unbelievable.

DU shells scattered all over Iraq

He's got to point out depleted uranium. How come no one made a big deal about bullets being made of lead? Toxic in the exact same way.

support the empire.

It's odd that we still called it the Roman Republic, even though it actually set up governors in lands it conquered. The word "empire" is beginning to lose all sociopolitical meaning.

Laughable.

Yeah, laugh at facts dumbass. You really buy that whole "omg DU is causing all sorts of birth defects". What people like you fail to realize is depleted uranium is just as toxic (and in the same way) as lead.

Never heard anyone ever use a term other than Roman Empire.

...do you even know Roman history?

Republic - Rubicon - civil war - dictatorship - civil war - empire.

It was a Republic before it was an empire.

I didn't know Bill O'Reilly made points using historical facts and then got attacked by someone ignorant of said facts.

Dylan could be President someday?

Mwahahahahaha!

Dylan's prayer is that he gets picked to do commercials for Bermas' pizza joint.

You are one of those sad people who waits for official orders to remove the wool that is over your eyes, and then accept it as commonplace truth...'mistakes' of the past. Some of us have the advantage of seeing these things as they unfold. Call me a dumbass, I know what you do not.

Ah. In other words "ignore science! I know better!".

Shall we start worshipping you as our almighty all-knowing God now? Obviously facts and scientific procedures are irrelevant, only your opinion/will is good enough to guide our belief and conduct. Show us the way oh mighty one!

Oh FYI shawn, DU is technically slightly more dangerous than lead due to it's radioactive properties, however, you're right, a person who's ingested/inhaled enough of it to be harmed by the radiation would be more likely to die from it's chemical properties before the radiation had time to do any damage. So while DU is technically more dangerous than lead, the difference is next to insignificant. In any event, the effectiveness of DU ammunition more than makes up for the small increase in danger per round since you'd have to use many more lead or tungsten rounds to achieve the effect of DU ammo. IE. say that a DU round is twice as dangerous (poisoning/radiation effects) as a lead round....but I have to fire 15 lead rounds to replace every 1 DU round. Obviously it'd make more sense to use DU ammo, and would actually cause less poisoning deaths because of the reduced ammount of poisonous metal that I'm pumping into the environment. While 1 kilo of DU may be more dangerous than 1 kilo of lead, I can gaurantee that 15 kilos of lead is more dangerous than 1 kilo of DU.

Thanks for the nonsequiter from hell. You should get some sleep or take some more ritalin or something. You're slipping. America was a republic before it was an empire too. But thanks for a meaningless retrospective in rhetoric.

Wow you make a mistake but instead of admitting it you say I used a non-sequitur (it's funny how you folks have no idea what a logical fallacy is).

You act as if there was no Republic, when there was. And during the republican stage of Rome they conquered barbarian states and installed governors and such. They didn't become an empire from these actions (we haven't even begun to get to this stage), they became an empire when - I hope you knew this - Augustus became Emperor.

Get it yet, dumbass?

however, you're right, a person who's ingested/inhaled enough of it to be harmed by the radiation would be more likely to die from it's chemical properties before the radiation had time to do any damage.

That was my point. Uneducated folks tend to see the word "uranium" and think they're gonna glow green. Lead and depleted uranium harm you in the same fashion - their chemical properties.

Feel free to follow up with Western liberal fantasies about "creating democracies", "international law", "human shields", "collatoral damage", etc.

How are human shields and collateral damage fantasies? Human shields are used quite often - that's probably why it's in the Geneva Convention - and collateral damage has been a fact of military life since the invention of siege weapons.

I do agree international laws are fantasy.

Again, touching on a topic we were discussing earlier Alex: The issue isn't so much about the US using DU- but the fact that the US went overseas to a country that posed no threat to anyone and shot an assload of DU into THEIR land, dropped bombs on them, and so on.

*shrug*

That point of view only makes sense if you look at all countries as individual self-contained organisms. Which we can't afford to do any more. I'm sorry that you can't understand that, I really am. You seem like a very intelligent fellow otherwise, you're just not grasping this one concept no matter how it's explained to you. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Feel free to follow up with Western liberal fantasies about "creating democracies", "international law", "human shields", "collatoral damage", etc.

See, I can't really argue with someone who thinks "human shields" and "collateral damage" are either liberal or fantasies.
