Dylan Update

Interesting article on what Dylan's doing these days:

Avery is in town to conduct interviews for his new documentary about police brutality called Black and Blue. Though he still has his signature soul patch, he is no longer the spitting image of angry youth in revolt. His hair is freshly buzzed, he wears a beaded Rasta bracelet on his wrist and his feet are clad in sandals, despite the weather. The Fight Club-loving skinny boy who once declared that there was going to be a “second American revolution,” now calls to mind a gentle Buddha.

“I never planned on talking about 9/11 for the rest of my life,” he says. “Everyone wants me to keep playing this role, but when I made Loose Change, I was young and pissed off.” He pauses for a moment. “I wanted to make a film and see if I was good at it, but it took over my life.”

We do get a brief mention:

Avery was tired and beginning to grow wary of both the Truth Movement and his place in it. “There were anti-Semites saying the Israeli intelligence agency pulled off 9/11,” he says. “They wanted me to put that stuff in my films.” In a bizarre twist, some in the movement accused him of working for the government, conducting a disinformation campaign to discredit Truthers. Others, who disagreed with his ideas, berated him on a popular blog called Screw Loose Change, where commenters regularly said things like, “Jeez, ****ing Hitler must be proud of Dylan.” And in different forums, strangers fantasized about his demise. “There were YouTube videos dedicated to killing me,” he recalls. “One said, ‘Dylan Avery dies in a plane crash,’ and it was just stock footage of a plane crashing. You see enough of that, and it really starts to wear on you.”
Once again, I bear Dylan no ill will, and disavow anyone who would do the sorts of things discussed there.  Dylan put a product out into the marketplace of ideas.  I tried to be careful to critique the product, not the person behind it. What's the old Voltaire quote?  I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Amusingly, Adam Syed pops up in the comments to complain bitterly about how unfair it is that those who think the Mossad did it are somehow anti-Semites.

Hat Tip: Orphia Nay at JREF.

Yeah, Dylan still has a life in front of him and I'm glad he's not wasting it on 9/11 troof. Leave that to hopeless losers like Brian Good.

“In my truly angry times, in 2005 or 2006, if you asked if the Bush administration planned the attacks, I would have said, ‘Fuck yeah’.”

But now?

“I don’t think Bush could plan a bowl of cereal,” he says."

Welcome back to reality, Dylan.

I'm actually rooting for "Black & Blue", I hope he's a little more responsible with it because it is an important topic.

We know, Brian. It was Cheney and Rumsfeld and the like who trained the modified attack baboons to plant the micro-nukes.

Anyone who doesn't accept the truth that Al Qaeda did it.

"No one that I know."

You have no friends outside of the mental health clinic waiting room.

" Bush was out of the loop, stuck in a school room in Sarasota with no idea what was going on."

Which is exactly where a criminal mastermind would be if he wanted to "look innocent". If 9/11 happened the way Troofer's want us to belive it did the planning would have begun after the 1993 attack failed (which it did if you believe Al Qaeda).

You can't argue both sides. Only the mentally ill do that.

If you can't argue both ways, you don't understand either argument, and then you certainly aren't qualified to choose between them.

Do you think the stock market is headed higher this summer, or do you think a nasty correction is imminent? If you can't argue both ways, you are nothing but a cheerleader for the side you have arbitrarily chosen.

I bet you're so dumb that you believe Willie Rodriguez's blatantly fraudulent hero stories.

Get an education, Mr. Ferris, before it's too late. Go back and review the heat of chemical fusion, and build from there.

We should listen to him. He's a law professor at Stanford, after all. Oh wait, no, he's an unemployed janitor who lives with his parents.

Do you think the stock market is headed higher this summer, or do you think a nasty correction is imminent? If you can't argue both ways, you are nothing but a cheerleader for the side you have arbitrarily chosen.

Poor Brian. He really is this stupid.

I bet you're so dumb that you believe Willie Rodriguez's blatantly fraudulent hero stories.

He's also a pervert who is homosexually obsessed with Willie Rodriguez.

Get an education, Mr. Ferris, before it's too late.

Get a haircut, Brian, before it's too late. Then maybe you'll be able to fool a few people into thinking you aren't a homeless lunatic.

At 20 May, 2014 09:29, Blogger snug.bug said...

Ian, I was a successful janitor decades ago. It was a good part-time job for a student because it was flexible and because I was well paid for my reliability and because I could be trusted with the keys. The fact that I did not pursue full-time janitorial work (which Willie Rodriguez allegedly did through a period of unprecedented Clinton prosperity) does not make a failure as a janitor.

I never wanted to be a law school professor. I heard about them from their children.

I don't want to get a haircut. I don't want to do anything that will make me anything like you in any way.

So what exactly is stupid about trying to understand both the bullish case and the bearish case for the market?

"If you can't argue both ways, you don't understand either argument, and then you certainly aren't qualified to choose between them."

Not true. You have a point of view or you don't. There was no positive side to National Socialism, so there was no point in arguing to defend their point of view.

"Do you think the stock market is headed higher this summer, or do you think a nasty correction is imminent? If you can't argue both ways, you are nothing but a cheerleader for the side you have arbitrarily chosen."

So now we can add economics to things Brian doesn't grasp. You can't argue two sides of an economic trend. Either you stand by your chosen economic indicators, or you don't. If you don't then you have no argument.

"I bet you're so dumb that you believe Willie Rodriguez's blatantly fraudulent hero stories."

I believe what the people he rescued said about him. He was there on 9/11, he went went back when he didn't have to, and even if he only rescued 1 person he's still a hero. His efforts for undocumented workers and their families afterwords is also admirable.

Unlike you, Willie has done a lot of good for a lot of people.

"Get an education, Mr. Ferris, before it's too late. Go back and review the heat of chemical fusion, and build from there."

Or maybe I can get kicked out of San Jose State like you did.

At 21 May, 2014 18:52, Blogger snug.bug said...

Sure there was a positive side to National Socialism! They built the autobahns, they rebuilt a wrecked economy, they rebuilt community, they made the German people hopeful and proud and gave them a dream--an infectious dream. The Poles and the Dutch don't like to admit it now, but at the time they were very supportive of the German occupation.

If there hadn't been a positive side, National Socialism wouldn't have been so popular among the German people.

This is exactly why you need to argue both ways: so you see what the appeal was of National Socialism and you can see the tendency to repeat those mistakes in your own country. If you don't understand the argument for it, then you're at the level of "National Socialism! Yuck! All zose peeple mit za funny mustaches and zey talk so funny! I'm SO, SO glad we're not like that!" That's not very smart.

You can argue two sides of an economic trend trend in the future. A trend is built in the past. A trend can, and will, change. The only question is when, and how long the new trend will last before it too changes. Where do you get the idea that "you have no argument" if you question the reliability of your chosen trend indicators? You sound more like a sports fan than a scientist.

What people Willie rescued said what about him? You seem to be missing the fact that not one reliable witness will validate Willie's claims. Why wouldn't Willie go back? Modern highrises don't fall from fires. Nobody knew the buildings were going to come down until they did. FDNY would not have sent their men into an unsafe situation. And as soon as Willie knew there was any danger of a collapse, he headed downstairs lickety split--taking his bogus key with him.

Willie has done enormous damage to the truth movement, taking their money, hurting their credibility--and alienating the independent journalists, the clear-thinking lawyers, and the firefighters who should have been the truth movement's greatest allies.

If there was any truth whatsoever to Willie's nonsense about basement bombs and 22-story collapses, the Controlled Demolition crowd would have been all over Willie like flies on shit. They ignore him.

Where do you get your information that I was kicked out of San Jose State? Did some lying anonymous internet poster tell you that? And did you believe him?

Willie Rodriguez too knew that his lies would be exposed, that it would be just a matter of time, that all he could do was delay the inevitable by libeling the people who told the truth about him and try to gain a few more weeks or months of celebrity.

It is inevitable also that computer modeling will be done in the future that tells us what really happened to the twin towers and to WTC7.

Your belief that we know what happened to the towers is very naive, Ian. NIST only gave us half a report, and in doing so dodged the ten essential mysteries of the towers' demise that bring their facile scenario into question.

The future will explain, Ian. It will explain the ten essential mysteries. It will vindicate my belief that these mysteries have not been and should be explained.

Thanks for making clear your contempt for the victims of 9/11, Ian. The tolerance that the alleged "debunkers" around here show for your spite well reveals their nature, and well complements their admiration for the blatant fraudster William Rodriguez.

I respond to your lies because they are lies. Lies don't make you somebody.

Your belief that because there were fires in the towers before they collapsed, therefore the fires caused the towers to collapse is logically fallacious. The agency charged with explaining "why and how" the towers collapsed admitted that they can not fully explain the collapses, and even claims that they did not analyze the collapses. Your acceptance of a report that tells you what you want to hear, ignores ten essential mysteries of the observables of the event, and claims it did not analyze the collapse is lazy. You are a negligent citizen, more concerned with hairstyling than with the integrity of democratic processes.

The essential scientific mysteries associated with the most devastating engineering failure in world history will inevitably be investigated in the future. That's how history works. Your obsessive lies and your arrogant attitudes may be able to delay that inevitability, but they can not prevent it.

I didn't stalk Carol Brouillet, she never said I did, and I was not banned from the truth movement. The lying con artist William Rodriguez said I stalked him. He called it stalking when I would google his name in google news, and then go and comment on those articles.

Your silly lies don't have the power to humiliate me, Ian. You're nothing but a yipping dog.
